What alignment issues should be considered during ball screw splines installation?
Ball screw splines have high requirements for coaxial, parallel and vertical properties. Poor alignment during installation can lead directly to noise, overheating, loss of accuracy, and even premature failure.
1 Spin-axis alignment
The ball screw axis must be coaxial with the drive motor shaft and the bearing housing shaft.
Recommended coaxiality error control: ≤ 0.01-0.02 mm
Consequences of poor coaxiality:
Uneven ball bearing load
Spline nut jamming
Massive reduction in service life
2 Tilt the guidance system
The ball screw spline must be strictly parallel to the straight guide rail or slide rail.
Recommended parallelism Error:
General automation equipment: ≤ 0.02 / 1000 mm
Precision equipment: ≤ 0.01 / 1000 mm
3 Self-adhesive Verticals and Smoothness of Mounted Surface
bearing housing mounting surface must be flat.
The mounting surface shall be perpendicular to the direction of movement.
Avoid changing preload due to base warping.

4 Self-adhesive Bearing Support Method Matches
Common methods of support:
Fixed + Supported (most common)
Fixed end + fixed end (High Precision / High Rigidity)
Incorrect support methods can magnify alignment errors and cause axial stress.
5️⃣ Coupling Selection and Installation
Flexible couplings or diaphragm couplings are recommended.
They can absorb minor alignment errors.
Rigid couplings is not recommended (unless high precision alignment is required).
The order in which the six versions are installed matters
Recommended Sequence:
Fixed faucet screw bearing housing (not fully locked)
Install guide rail and fine-tune the parallelism
Manual check for smooth running on empty stroke
Finally, gradually tighten all bolts.
